Zoning violations

A NJ farmer is getting into some trouble because of violations of the local zoning ordinances. IT is an interesting case because it highlights how many of the land use disputes in NJ focus on seemingly smaller issues. In this case it also includes classic problems with the conflict between farms and residential neighbors. It also represents a property owner trying to use the property in a way that he considers part of the historic precedence established by its pre-1972 farm heritage instead of the current legal description. If you read between the lines of the newspaper account, there is also a simple neighbor-vs-neighbor dispute that is being thrust into the legal realm of the municipal zoning board of adjustment. The farmer has certainly tried to make it sound personal.
